What do you do when you meet people who are financially or economically in a better position than you? Let us all be honest here.. we sometimes compare ourselves to our peers and see if they are doing better than us. There are times where, whether it is good or not, we can tell they are doing better in life. Of course we do not know their struggles but we know that financially they are quite more comfortable than you.

Being grateful for everything you have now is one of the keys to happiness in life, for this reason my parents always taught me not to focus too much and look up, because it will give rise to excessive desires, but look down because there we will find people who are more financially difficult than us. I don't really focus on what they have, but rather on what I can learn from them. Everyone who is better than us financially has gone through various obstacles and challenges to accumulate what they have today, we also know what they went through behind their seemingly perfect life.

So, I focus more on myself while pointing out the motivation to be able to achieve something I want, comparing myself with others will make us more stressed.

When I meet people who are doing better than me financially i try not to see it as competition instead i take it as motivation it’s normal to compare a little bit but i’ve learned that everyone’s timeline is different some started earlier some got lucky and some worked quietly for years before they started showing results. I try to look for what i can learn from them maybe how they manage money how they invest or how they built their business i ask questions if i can because most times there’s a lesson hiding behind their success story.

Focusing too much on what others have will only create pressure and jealousy that doesn’t help at all like you said being grateful is what keeps the mind stable and calm there will always be people ahead of us and others behind us so balance is the key. I just try to remind myself that my race is mine alone and if i keep improving and making smart choices my turn will come comparing kills joy but learning inspires growth.
