I'm not so sure about that: several times per day, Cloudflare wastes a few seconds of my time with their "verifying" page, followed by "click captcha". I have no idea what they're tracking while doing that, all I know it a few seconds several times per day adds up to many hours over the years.
They are certainly tracking your IP address, browser and device your are using, but there are probably more things they are recording.And it's not always just a few seconds, sometimes it takes more time if you need to solve their captchas.
From what I heard those captchas are just one more way of tracking and teaching AI.
