I will love to see matters like these settled internally and everyone moves on from it. The ideal situation here will be if the public hears nothing more about it, it will be sore if a partnership of 8 years ends on such a note.

Those kind of picks are always difficult to make. What motivates me is I will rather lose a high odd pick than a low one below 1.30, so when I suspect an upset, I usually take it.
