I've said this before, and I'll reiterate: My goal is not to stop anyone from doing whatever they want. You're thinking as if I'm trying to help governments in achieving their goals, which I'm not. The rules are not designed to be effective at doing anything in the wider world.
The point is to prevent bitcointalk.org from being viewed similarly to "that gas station where all the drug dealers hang out". Places like that end up under increased surveillance, and eventually the authorities usually find some excuse to shut them down.

You think we're not under surveillance even without the mixers? If "they" wanted to shut down this forum they would find an excuse, but I think their tactics are different. Why shut down the place where they all gather and scatter them in all directions when you can have them all together and monitor them?

It's true that the mixers attracted additional attention, but they've been on the forum since 2016 (if not before) if I'm not mistaken, and I think they would still be there today without any consequences for the forum if the decision hadn't been made to remove them. I don't know if it makes sense to compare this forum to altcoinstalks, but mixers have found their place there and for now there are no consequences for that forum.

Of course, it's not just the fate of the forum that's at stake here, but also your skin, considering that you're literally within reach of all those three-letter agencies. However, it seems that mixers are hated a lot more on the other side of the ocean (at least judging by the seizures).
