Don’t see him differently, he’s just a normal being that stick to his principles and nothing much. Do you know maybe doing prayers to miraculously find a way to save his mother, when gambling came as an option, he promised himself that he’ll only do it once for this course and will never indulge in it again if he gets to make the money to save his mother. It’s not really surprising but it is very hard to come across people like this nowadays. He could also be the kind of person that easily gets addicted and if he can’t really control his emotions when he eventually gets into gambling, then it’s better he doesn’t even start and stay away from it.
