PSG won fair and square but their winning was not enough to earn them the top position in the league because Lens have refused to surrender that position. Lens defeated Nice to retain their position at the top and it is something good to make the season interesting unlike other years where PSG usually win without any challenge. Lens is set to continue retaining that position for now because they will likely win their next match against Toulouse even though they will be playing at away. If they fail to win the match, then PSG will overtake them because PSG will definitely win Paris.
The upcoming matches look fairly easy for both Lens and PSG, as they will be facing mediocre clubs, so it is unlikely that there will be any change at the top of the table. I am actually very impressed with Lens performances this season, they have managed to cause problems for PSG when most other Ligue 1 teams have been unable to do so.
Although PSG will eventually take over the top spot, I think Lens have made this season title race a bit more competitive. Lille and Marseille may become more serious contenders for the trophy as the second half of the season begins, but at first glance they still look more like teams fighting for Champions League qualification.
