It may be not popular in some places, but there are also countries that are fond of animal fights, for example, in the Philippines, many are too fond of watching cockfighting, they are even streamed online, and people gather to watch them in place where it can be watched. So I think it depends and, here in our country, there is definitely a lot of audience for this kind of gambling.
I got to realise this after responding to a thread about cockfight. I gave my opinion about the whole idea of setting up chickens to fight till death, how the unnatural nature of the whole competition doesn’t seat well with me and to my greatest surprise a lot of forum members defended the sport and said it was fun, it was there I got to realize that it was just a me and some few other people’s thing not a general view.
I have seen where chickens fought naturally, I have stayed to watch it although it didn’t lead to the death of any of them and I enjoyed th fight because it happened naturally, but in this case it’s not happening naturally, people are the one instigating it and then allowing the innocent chicken to die for their entertainment. It’s more like saying setting up humans and then making them fight till one of them dies.
It doesn’t seat right with me and I’m 100% sure that it’s never going to seat well with me. Cockfight is out of my book, nothing is going to make me bet on it.
