Recently, I'm trying to experience something, it might not be new, but I decided to turn off the sounds or audio of the slot games that I played. Because we all know that sounds are own cue to create excitement as every spin can give us that emotional influences, like near-miss beeps or those big multiplier jingles.
Anyone has tried this method though? Or this is not at trick that is going to work in the long run as visuals is still the main attraction?
As my reason is: When the “reward sounds” disappear, the urge to keep playing decreases and maybe it will feel less addictive.
I think the sounds are part of the game and is supposed to put you into the gambling environment.
Without it, you are not really playing it the way it was meant to be played.
But it can become annoying after a lot of playing.
So maybe I turn it off after a while is the only answer I can give. But yes, it is designed to be addictive.
