When I was in school, I walked more than I rode because it was a short distance so I didn't have to take the bus, and it was healthy.

But for work I take more vehicles than walking, imagine going to work and returning from work having to walk tens of kilometers it will be very tiring and not productive anymore, anyways paying the bus fare is still commensurate with the salary we receive, as long as we are not too wasteful in other expenses.
