Manchester City's performance is inconsistent. This is their biggest weakness. Even  though the squad is strong, they are failing to play consistently well. But you are right that manchester city still has the ability to occupy the top spot of the table. And even win the title. Guardiola is a very experienced coach. So even though city's performance in the first round was inconsistent, they might be  stronger in the knockout round. As we saw with PSG last season. PSG performed very badly in the first round. But in the knockout round, the team became unstoppable.
The ability to be a tough one on other teams is a skill Manchester City has mastered so well in the champions league and moreover they have the experience and one of the records for winning the champions league many times but recently they have not been able to sustain this kind of form for the longest and to the point of been able to pushing it to the finals as the case maybe, I hope they look beyond been tough on other teams alone this season and try to achieve the height of winning the title.
