People who gamble for fun are very few compared to the many who gamble to win. Many of those we see are those who experience life-changing losses, but this is due to the gambler's excessive gambling behavior, leading to serious addiction. I can say that I'm not addicted to gambling, but I can't be sure that my gambling is truly for fun, as I believe everyone who gambles has a desire to win.
Everyone who gambles indeed desires to win, both the ones that gamble for fun and mostly the gamblers that are focused on profit alone. Even if the desire is not for large profit, they still hope to win something out of it, and we have fewer of those who are mainly gambling for only fun, which is not bad. As long as we are all gambling responsibly, everything should be fine.
A good percentage of gamblers may start off for fun purposes but later graduate their desires into the need to profit making from gambling, mostly when it happens that they experience some luck in their first few attempts, they almost immediately go beyond just having fun as gamblers to wanting profits and that is why now we have more profit chasing gamblers than fun seeking gamblers.
